Located near the Nottawasaga River, Minesing is a community northwest of Barrie. Proud birthplace of Hockey Hall of Famer Frank Foyston, Minesing is a community brimming with character. Every winter, the residents put on Mini-fest, which has become increasingly popular over the years, and every fall, they put on a slo-pitch tournament over Labor Day weekend.

Minesing is served by a Community Center, the Springwater Public Library, one public school, and two churches. The Minesing Swamp is a breeding ground for a range of rare plants and animals.
